ASUS EEEPC900 Eee PC 900 16GB SSD
I got Asus Eee PC 900 from ebay around $460.
Unit came with 16GB SSD HD, 1GB Ram, 8.9″ Screen, 1.2MB Camera, Wireless, and Windows XP Home version.
My Review:
Very Small, Very Slick Looking, Everything Installed, Well Build, and Screen is Great. It is True Ultra Portable PC. However, It takes time to adjust to small keyboard and somewhat performance is slow for my blood. I searched the internet and 16GB SSD is slower than HD. It should be faster than HD but in this case, no. Also, battery life really sucks. You need to buy higher amp battery(10400mAh)from Ebay.

I heard Linux version perform little bit better but I think for class, conference, etc, this unit will be just fine if you do not want to spend fortune.

Michael Dell talks about the Mini Inspiron
Last week Dell held a press conference in front of reporters representing several countries in Asia, to discuss Dell’s key growth areas. Among the discussed things was the new 8.9 inch subnotebook ( a.k.a Mini Inspiron ) Dell is planning to launch.
When asked what type products from Dell would serve the next billion people coming online, Michael made the point that these new users don’t think in terms of the type of the device they will use—instead, they think about connecting to the Internet. We’re focused on developing products in emerging countries like the Dell 500 laptop for China and India and beyond and the upcoming mini laptop. He also said that more products coming in the second half of the year.

Dell Mini Inspiron preloaded with XP or Ubuntu
Announced to be shipped in mid summer, the Dell mini inspiron will most likely be preloaded with XP or Ubuntu notebook remix.
The Ubuntu notebook remix is not another ubuntu distro or a cut down version, it is a full version of the Ubuntu linux OS with a special program launcher made for small screen sizes. Canonical is working with Intel to make the OS more optimized for their atom processor.
One thing to note is that the Ubuntu notebook remix will boot in just 5-10 seconds, even much faster than the eee pc.
Dell Mini Inspiron specs
Although no official word is out yet about the upcoming mini Inspiron, our team has scoured the web for rumors and we came up with the following set of probable specifications:
Cpu: Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz
Memory: 512 Ram
Storage: 4GB SSD
Screen size: 8.9″ at 1280×800 resolution
Also 3 USB ports, Ethernet, WiFi, card reader, Mic/line-out, VGA port. And all this for under $500 Dell says.
DEll Mini Inspiron Availabilily
De’lls recently announced mini Inspiron ( no official name yet ) will arrive in August but with some unusual sacrifices.
Dell has sacrifices the traditional row of F (function) keys allowing for a much larger keyboard than on other netbooks. Instead of using the Fn (function) key to emulate the F-keys, the
button triggers different functions mapped to media keys on the system,
such as toggles for brightness, external displays, and wireless.
Dell Mini Inspiron First Photos
The ultra mobile netbooks like the EEE PC are really taking over the world. people love them for their small size, lightweight and cheapness.
With every major notebook manufacturer jumping in the umpc bandwagon, Dell can’t stay behind and plans to release a mini version of their Inspiron line and releases first photos of the device.
